Ariana Gabriels "We're lucky to be alive, and see this life through these eyes" general info
personality
appearance Ariana is a more or less, if somewhat short, average sized woman standing at 5'3". She is quite beautiful, and could care less about it. Her skin is pale and smooth, with little blemishes such as freckles. She is more slender and skinny, quite obviously not built for strength and power. However, nonetheless, she is muscular and lacks soft fat that would suggest she were anything but an athletic fighter. She still, however does not appear all that intimidating, aside from the slightly predatory grin she gives to nearly everyone she speaks to and the scars on her body. A somewhat vicious woman, she had gained her amount of scars, some from genuine accidents such as playing with knives as a child, and some from fights she likely started with the latest man who irritated her a little too much. She could never resist a good fight. Some of the more noticeable scars not hidden by clothes, are two cuts on her left cheek and several cuts on her forearms. Ariana has fiery hair that tends to stand out quite a bit, cut short for practicality. Her choppy locks detract from her beauty, mostly due to the fact that whenever she decides her hair has grown too long she chops it off with a blade. Her hair waves somewhat at the ends, only going perhaps half-way down her neck. Her bright green eyes shine with intelligence, almost always glimmering with humor. Likely due to a joke she's not telling one, that is at someone's expense. She prefers warm, comfortable clothes that function practically as well. She is no one pretty doll whose only job is to be eye candy. She would be the one kicking herself if she ever went anywhere without her sword. After all, it's common sense to bring your weapon everywhere you go. biography Ariana was born the second child of Rose and Andy Gabriels, five years after the birth of her older brother, Kirin. The siblings were born of two Maw soldiers who found love despite the dark and dangerous times they lived in. Rose was a quieter soul, who still followed orders to the letter. She did best without thinking too hard about what she was told to do, though she was more interested in tending to a family rather than spilling the blood of any beast, no matter how horrendous. Andy was of a stronger will, interested in raising two strong children to help add to the Maw's ranks. However content he was with the life he led as a soldier, he was all too happy with raise his perfect children with his wife. Their children who surely inherited their father's fiery will. The elder of siblings, seemed to fall short of that. He seemed to inherit more of his mother, seeming to prefer being non-confrontational. He wasn't unloved, but when his sister was born, she seemed to receive the bulk of attention from their parents. Ariana was born with more of her father's spirit, excitable, brave, and filled with resolve for almost anything really. They didn't quite mean to, but somehow Kirin had fallen to the wayside while Ariana was doted upon. Though, while her parents were distracted, Ariana had become enamored with her brother. She constantly sought his attention and his advice for almost anything. She easily grew bored of her parents and their repetitive praise and promised honeyed words. She appreciated it when Kirin never brushed over the topic of her making a mistake. She didn't dislike her parents, however her big brother was certainly her favorite. Ariana was a curious child and all too interested in the idea of fighting. She was intelligent, and tended to find her parent's weapons even when they tried to keep them out of reach or hide them. She'd ended up accidentally almost chopping off her arm once or twice. She was decidedly not discouraged, and proved that she was already not quite as afraid of pain and death than she possibly should have been. She tended to give all three members of her family heart attacks nearly daily. Then came the time where training was mandatory for children her age. She was practically exploding with excitement and anticipation, despite her brother's insistence she really shouldn't be looking forward to it with such fervor. She ended up carving out a reputation for herself, as a socially awkward, rather weird child. She tended to blurt out what she was thinking, often ignoring social cues when she wanted to, and tended to be a little loud for many children's tastes. Sometimes she'd walk away from someone in the middle of a conversation if they were boring her. She found most people boring. She irritated more than a few people. Though, she managed to make two friends. Isabelle, or Izzy, and Ren. She tended to drag them to meet her family a lot. They tended to pretend to grow weary of her energetic antics, however they saw her charm and stayed friends with her. Time passed, and Ariana thought her happiness could last forever. There was nothing about her life she thought was particularly bad. Sure, they were going to lead a bloody life. She didn't mind. Fighting was... Exciting for her. Dangerous, but fun. Approaching Ariana's 18th birthday, she noticed something was off. Her beloved brother was drifting off. He showed evidence of being bitter and became short-tempered slowly. She couldn't understand why no one else saw it: Her parents, her brother's friends... She couldn't understand why no one wanted to help him. She did her best to spend more time with him, try to get him to open up about what was bothering him, however none of it worked. He always brushed her off, sometimes saying something a little meaner than Ariana thought him capable of. He'd sometimes say things over the years to make sure her ego didn't grow, but he never said anything that unkind. She told herself he was stressed and it would blow over. It turned out to be a delusion she'd been telling herself. One day, she found the note he left behind for her. It was a goodbye note, and it hadn't been kind or gentle in its wording. Kirin had run away, and he apparently wasn't coming back. At the time, she hadn't wanted to believe it. She'd asked around, but it was true. Kirin ran. He ran from everything. From her, his duty, the Maw... He might as well be dead. Since he didn't die, there was nothing like a funeral or anything. Ariana had wished he'd died. Perhaps it would've hurt less. Anyone who knew her would've seen a shift in personality that took over the span of a year. A lot happened in that year. Ariana had grown short with almost anyone, aiming her sharp tongue at anyone. Even her friends. During a bout of anger, she even blinded Issei when she'd picked a fight with him. After that day, Issei never talked to her. Ren persisted for a while, even if he couldn't look her in the eyes. Nothing she said could've made things right. Eventually, Ren and Issei both stopped even trying to interact with her at all. She was ready to hit someone, honestly. After all that... She stopped trying to talk to even see her parents. She couldn't deal with them or their words or their faces anymore. She did her best to cut ties. It wasn't perfect... But eventually they stopped reaching out to her. It got easier to pretend she didn't know them after that. She made a new reputation. She practically bit the heads off anyone who tried to be friendly. She was the scary swords lady who didn't like anyone, who might just blind you if you made her mad. Ariana was fine with this. She was fine with being alone like this. She could do without having the need to add the part about where she hated romance and men afterward. She wasn't sure what it was that made her suddenly more attractive. It was really weird. Time passed. She liked to believe she'd healed. She calmed down and learned. She couldn't immediately bite off the heads of anyone who came near. She became more subtle. Sort of. She still insulted people to their faces, but her voice was filled with humor and sarcasm. She poked fun at people, always laughing and grinning instead of glaring and shouting. She still pushed people away. She didn't need anyone. She firmly believed that. At least she could do teamwork if she needed to, and no one was telling her to not blind people anymore. Instead, now she was a careless idiot who cared more about a good laugh than people's feelings. She treated almost everything like a joke and couldn't take anything seriously and would probably laugh off a bloody injury. It was better than what she used to have. | ooc info ☆ NAME Kira ☆ OTHER CHARACTERS n/a ☆ FACE CLAIM faceclaim SCARLETT JOHANSSON, ARIANA gabriels THIS CHARACTER BELONGS TO kira. DO NOT STEAL. |
